“I don’t believe that an A-Grade meet should be outside”
2026 PAN PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
After running into the lane line in the final of the 50 Back, Australia’s Isaac Cooper was less than thrilled. He did end up clocking a 24.59 and earning silver, but he felt he had more to give, given the circumstances. Per his own words, there is no worse feeling than running into the lane line while swimming backstroke, and he doesn’t feel that a meet of this importance should be held at an outdoor facility. Cooper isn’t the only one who has been plagued by the lane line this week, as many backstrokers, including USA’s Jack Aikins and Quintin McCarty, have visibly run into the lane lines during their races.
