On the August 21 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Blake Monroe is set to make her in-ring debut when she faces Giulia in singles action.
Following WrestleMania 42, vignettes started to air to tease the main roster debut of Monroe.
Signing with WWE in 2025, the former Mariah May immediately became a prominent star on the NXT brand.
In just under a year on the brand, Monroe was a former NXT Women’s North American Champion and feuded with the likes of Jordynne Grace and Tatum Paxley.
Many fans believed Monroe would instantly become a top star when she was called up to the main roster.
However, things have quite turned out that way for the former AEW Women’s World Champion.
After making her SmackDown debut in London on the June 26 episode, Monroe has spent the last two months in backstage segments or not featured on Friday nights at all.
Ahead of her main roster in-ring debut, it is clear that WWE needs to nail Blake Monroe’s in-ring debut to reestablish her once again.
What needs to happen with Blake Monroe on SmackDown?
All eyes will be on Blake Monroe going into this match against Giulia on the August 21 SmackDown.
While many fans want this to be a competitive match, that might not be the best thing for Monroe’s future.
Considering that it has been four months since her last in-ring bout in a WWE ring, Monroe needs to be presented as a threat right from the start of her run on SmackDown.
Giulia is a two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion and considered one of the most feared strikers in the women’s division today.
However, WWE has not invested a ton of TV time into “The Beautiful Madness” as of late.
With the company not seeing big things for her like Monroe, it would make sense if Giulia was used to propel the newest SmackDown star.
Blake Monroe coming into SmackDown and dominating Giulia would be an impactful way to introduce “The Glamour” to the main roster audience.
Presenting this beauty as a killer will help to give Monroe an identifiable character that fans will want to learn more about.
There is no doubt that Monroe and Giulia can deliver an enjoyable bout, but WWE has to do what is best to help the former Mariah May make a huge impact in her first in-ring contest on SmackDown.
Monroe destroying Giulia might be the best way for WWE to make sure this debut is an instant hit.
