Alex Eala annoyed at tennis fan who threw cap at her at the Asian Games

After a busy day at the Asian Games, playing both singles and doubles, Eala walked by some fans of hers, before a cap was thrown on the floor next to her feet.

Eala, who appeared frustrated by this, then stopped to put her bag down and speak to this fan in Filipino, as it has been reported that she told this fan never to throw things at players and to ask nicely for signatures.

This tennis fan appeared to apologise after this awkward incident, and Eala then signed the cap that was thrown on the floor.

Eala’s hopes of winning gold at the Asian Games then came to an end the following day, as she was beaten by Chinese player Xiyu Wang 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

This is a second successive bronze medal at the Asian Games for Eala, who will now have to wait for the 2030 event in Doha if she is to ever get her hands on a gold medal at the event.

The next of those is at the Wuhan Open, a tournament where Eala has never won a main draw match before.

This is one of three tournaments Eala is confirmed to play before 2027, having also entered the Ningbo Open and the Hong Kong Tennis Open.
