AEW
During the AEW Dynamite: A Tribute to PAC show, Bryan Danielson made his in-ring return, wrestling for the first time in over a year.
Danielson teamed with Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd and Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders to defeat Jake Doyle, Lance Archer, Mark Davis, Wardlow and Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family.
The former AEW World Champion also reconciled with Jon Moxley, with the two stars hugging it out while paying tribute to their late friend.
Having last wrestled on TV against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024, Bryan Danielson considers himself retired from full-time competition, but as shown by his eight second dark match against Max Caster at the June 25, 2025 Collision taping, and his appearance on the A Tribute to PAC show, the popular star is able to return to the ring for special appearances.
Here are more potential opponents for matches Danielson could compete in, if he’d be open to stepping back into the ring again.
“Hangman” Adam Page
In an interview with Nick Stav in September 2025, Bryan Danielson named “Hangman” Adam Page as one of his “wrestling soulmates”.
With the duo last facing off in the final of the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, it’d be intriguing to see these two stars share the ring again.
There are many possibilities for a potential clash, with Danielson and Page able to meet in singles or trios action, with Page and the New Level currently holding the AEW Trios Championship.
Following his reunion with the Death Riders on Dynamite, Danielson wouldn’t be short on allies if he was to challenge for Page, Kofi and Austin Creed’s gold.
Jon Moxley
Bryan Danielson’s full-time career came to an end at WrestleDream 2024, with the popular star dropping the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley, ahead of Moxley brutalizing him following the match.
While the two stars set aside their differences to pay tribute to PAC, it’d still be interesting to see the two stars go head-to-head in a rematch.
While the duo likely wouldn’t be serious enemies, friendly competition between the former Blackpool Combat Club teammates would be intriguing enough.
With Moxley currently holding the Continental Championship, this bout could have an almost-reversed dynamic compared to their WrestleDream clash.
The entire AEW locker room – Casino Gauntlet
The Casino Gauntlet match sees two stars start in the ring, with more wrestlers entering the match at one by one until a single fall takes place.
The nature of this match means that it usually features several surprise appearances, so we could see Bryan Danielson make another one-off appearance in a future Casino Gauntlet bout.
This stipulation has been associated with the All In pay-per-view in recent years, with Andrade El Idolo winning at the August 25 event.
Even if Danielson wouldn’t win the #1 contender’s bout, it’d be fun to see him share the ring with a number of AEW talents in this mega-match.
