If you’re looking for more speed and better contact, the answer isn’t just to swing harder. A big part of the equation is learning how to move pressure through your feet and into your lead side before impact. When that sequence is right, it becomes easier to deliver the club with a stable lower body, find the center of the face and compress the ball instead of catching it fat or thin. That’s the idea behind Why Golf’s Power Plate.
The Power Wedge provides an incline for your trail foot that teaches you the feel of activating the lower body correctly. The better you can load into your trail leg, the more power you can generate and the easier it is to get to your lead side early (think: throwing a ball).

The training aid sets your feet on a slight incline, giving you an exaggerated feel for a proper weight shift in your swing. First, the incline makes it easier to shift your weight back into your trail leg. Then the goal is simple: move that pressure into your lead side without letting your body slide away from the target.
That distinction matters. If you can shift your pressure correctly, your weight will be in the lead leg just before the club reaches impact. Remember, most of the power in your swing comes from the pressure you load into the ground and use to move the swing forward.
It can help to relate the golf swing sequence to the motion you make when throwing a ball. When throwing a ball, you load into your back side, then push toward the target. That sequence creates both speed and direction.
The golf swing has a similar relationship with the ground, and the Power Plate can help you make a concept that often feels abstract much easier to understand. When you shift pressure correctly, the plate responds, helping you feel and see whether you’re making the intended move.
For golfers who struggle with fat or thin contact, or want a more repeatable way to train their lower-body motion, the feedback from this handy device can be incredibly valuable.
Instead of relying on what you think a pressure shift should feel like, this device gives you a simple physical cue to help you practice the move until you master it.
