WWE
While there has been some uncertainty surrounding logistics for the event, WWE has confirmed two major matches for Crown Jewel.
At the November 7 premium live event – which is still being promoted as taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green will face Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan to crown this year’s women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
The men’s Crown Jewel Championship match has also been confirmed, with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns set to square off against Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn.
Given Reigns and Zayn’s history, there is a lot of intrigue surrounding this bout, with fans curious about how this encounter will play out.
With only one world champion able to have his arm raised at the end of this bout, it’ll be interesting to see which star comes out on top.
The Honorary Uce
Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn faced off in what many fans consider to be one of the best WWE title matches of the 2020s, with the OTC defending his Undisputed Universal Championship against the Honorary Uce at Elimination Chamber 2023.
Prior to this, Sami Zayn had started to associate himself with the Bloodline faction in 2022, before earning their trust and being named an honorary member of the family.
With Zayn fighting alongside Reigns and the Bloodline on several occasions, including in the 2022 Survivor Series WarGames bout, the Honorary Uce finally turned on Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2023, with Zayn choosing to strike Roman with a steel chair instead of Kevin Owens.
Despite his hardfought efforts, Sami Zayn ultimately came up short against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2023.
Zayn and Reigns have shared the ring as both enemies and allies in the years since, with Reigns and Solo Sikoa notably unsuccessfully challenging for Zayn and Kevin Owens’ WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions 2023.
Zayn stood alongside Reigns at Survivor Series 2024, with The Usos and CM Punk also on their team against Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed in that year’s WarGames match.
With the duo set to face off in singles action for the first time since 2023, arguments can be made for both stars needing to walk out the W at Crown Jewel.
Sami Zayn to dethrone the OTC?
Having previously held the Undisputed WWE Championship for nine days following Night of Champions in June, Sami Zayn won back the gold from CM Punk to become a two-time WWE Champion on September 11.
Zayn’s latest title win marked the fifth time this title had changed hands in 2026 alone, with the Undisputed Title scene being as exciting as ever.
The only downside to Zayn’s most recent victory is that he seems to be in the role of chicken you-know-what heel, rather than the badass who takes on all comers.
A victory over Roman Reigns would be huge for the WWE Champion, firmly presenting Zayn as the company’s top star, following doubts that he’d ever reach the top of the mountain.
With Johnny Gargano interfering in every Sami Zayn match in attempts to earn a championship match, a dirty victory over the Tribal Chief which the Honorary Uce brags about for the rest of the year isn’t completely out of the question.
Roman Reigns to prevail
The reason why many are predicting that Roman Reigns will leave Riyadh as Crown Jewel Champion is simple; because WWE is booking Reigns as an unstoppable force.
Also, the fact that Reigns hasn’t yet won the Crown Jewel Championship also could hint at a victory on November 7, especially as Reigns has earned pretty much every other accolade throughout his WWE career.
With Roman Reigns recently opening up about how difficult it is to create new stars in pro-wrestling, it feels like the OTC’s next loss will be a huge moment, to help cement an up-and-coming star in the main event scene.
With many believing that this star will be Oba Femi, The Ruler scoring a victory over a champion who hadn’t been defeated in a year would feel like a bigger moment than a win over a recently-defeated Reigns.
There is another factor in all of this worth considering, however…
Señor Dinero en el Banco
Following his Money in the Bank ladder match victory on October 10, Penta is now able to cash-in for a championshipship match at a time of his choosing.
No Money in the Bank holder has ever cashed in during a Crown Jewel Championship match, so what would happen if Penta handed over the briefcase mid-match would be uncharted territory.
With WWE presenting Penta as a future main-eventer, there won’t be a more high-profile cash-in opportunity than when both the Undisputed WWE and World Heavyweight titleholders will be in the ring together.
