Futures Championship finalist Myah Rayburn has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Colorado State University beginning in the fall of 2027.

The Texas native is a senior at Clear Lake High School in Houston, where she has swam for the varsity swimming and diving team the past three years. She currently trains year-round with HydroElite Aquatics Team and primarily specializes in butterfly and mid-distance freestyle.
Rayburn qualified for the 2026 UIL (University Interscholastic League) 6A State Championships during her junior year, where she earned a second swim in one event. She placed 14th in the 100 fly in 56.99 after posting a lifetime best time of 56.77 during prelims.
A few months prior to the high school state championships, Rayburn turned in a series of strong performances at the 2025 Gulf Southern Senior Championship, logging three personal best times. She placed 4th in the 200 fly (2:03.64 – PB), 6th in the 1000 free (10:27.16 – PB), 8th in the 100 fly (57.30) and 12th in the 200 free (1:55.18). She also contested the 100 free (54.06), 200 IM (2:13.70) and 100 back (1:01.55 – PB).
At the 2026 Futures Championship (LCM) in Austin, Rayburn earned a second swim in one event. She placed 13th in the 200 fly in 2:23.88 after clocking a personal best time of 2:22.65 during the preliminary heats. She also raced the 200 free (2:13.61), 50 fly (29.75) and 100 fly (1:05.43).
Rayburn set a handful of other lifetime best times over the course of the 2025-2026 SCY season, including in the 50 free (24.91), 100 free (53.74), 200 free (1:54.70) and 200 IM (2:10.76).

A Division I Mid-Major program, Colorado State joined the Pac 12 Conference ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year after previously competing in the Mountain West Conference, with the women’s team placing 8th at the 2026 Mountain West Conference Championships. Three of the other four programs in the Pac 12 competed against Colorado State in the Mountain West Conference last season (Washington State, Fresno State and San Diego State), with all three teams placing above Colorado State at the conference championships in February.
On the Colorado State team itself, Rayburn would have ranked 1st in the 200 fly, 3rd in the 1000 free, 5th in the 200 free and 7th in the 100 fly last season, setting her up to be a strong contributor across the board. While it remains to be seen how the new conference alignment will shake out over the next few months, Rayburn should be a solid contributor for the Rams when she joins the team next fall.
Currently set to join Rayburn in Colorado State’s class of 2031 are Sam Nauman (back/IM) and Connolly Taylor (free/back/fly), who should both make for strong training partners over the next four years.
