Katerina Siniakova might just be the most successful modern-day player the sport has at present, given her ability to fight on multiple fronts.
After all, not only is she comfortably the best doubles player in the world, but she also remains a hugely competitive singles star.
In fact, just last week she added a hugely impressive sixth career singles title to her sprawling trophy cabinet, which boasts plenty more silverware earned across both disciplines.
Siniakova’s talent is well-documented, and her legacy will go down as one of the greatest in the sport’s recent memory.
If anyone needed further proof, the latest all-time record that she is due to shatter should provide it rather comprehensively.
Katerina Siniakova set to break legendary Martina Navratilova record
Martina Navratilova is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, not just for her domination of the singles game, but for her ability to compete on all fronts.
In the ladies’ and mixed doubles, the Czech-American superstar amassed a huge number of trophies, leaving her with an array of silverware that few can match.
Give us one bold prediction for the final months of the 2026 tennis season!
Navratilova won 354 total career titles; 167 in singles, 177 in the women’s doubles, and ten mixed doubles, including an Open Era record 59 Grand Slam titles.
She also completed a Career Grand Slam in singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Siniakova cannot really be compared to Navratilova, but that is no slight on her stature within the game. All she has won remains an outstanding feat.
And, to snatch one record as big as this from the 70-year-old should provide some comfort, as Siniakova is now confirmed to finish 2026 as the year-end world number one.
This will be the sixth time she has managed this feat, and will therefore overtake Navratilova as the all-time record holder.
Every singles title Katerina Siniakova has won in her career
As noted earlier, this marks the sixth singles title of Siniakova’s career.
It provides a sparkling cherry on top of a doubles career that has amassed 13 Grand Slam titles and ten WTA 1000 triumphs, as well as an Olympic gold medal across both women’s and mixed doubles.
Having lost her first two singles finals, it was the Shenzhen Open at the start of 2017 which finally saw her break through. Siniakova followed that up with another title later that year, beating Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the Swedish Open.

Losses to Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep in her next two finals could be forgiven, before she scored a huge victory in the 2022 Slovenia Open, beating Elena Rybakina in that final.
Siniakova has since won Bad Homburg and the Jiangxi Open in 2023, and now the Japan Open this month.
Across her singles career, she has also enjoyed top-ten wins over superstars like Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Garbiñe Muguruza and Mirra Andreeva.
