“Best of the Rest” Butterflyer Siggy Nimo Hands Verbal Commitment to Florida for 2028-29

Siggy Nymo from Minneapolis, Minnesota, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida for 2028-29, writing on social media:

“I am so beyond blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Florida! I want to start by thanking my family and friends for their endless love, support, and encouragement throughout this journey. I truly could not have done this without yall. Nymo is a junior at Edina High School. She swims year-round with Aquajets Swim Team and is a “Best of the Rest” butterfly recruit on our Way Too Early list of top girls’ swimmers from the high school class of 2028. But let’s not sleep on her times in backstroke, freestyle, and breaststroke, which also give her a solid 200 IM. As a freshman at the 2024 MSHSL Girls’ Class AA State Championship, Nymo won the 100 fly (53.66) and placed 3rd in the 200 IM (2:02.44), both with lifetime-best times. She also earned a PB in the 50 free (23.87) leading off the Edina 200 free relay and she split 23.98 on the fly leg of the winning 200 medley relay.

Last year, she competed at 2025 Winter Juniors West, where she competed in the 50 free, 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly, and 200 fly. She finaled in the 100 fly (16th) and scored a PB in the 50 free (23.33). A few months later, at NCSA Spring Championships, Nymo was a finalist in the 100 back (33rd), 200 back (34th), 50 fly (13th), 100 fly (3rd), 200 fly (10th), and 200 IM (18th), and she updated her PBs in the 100 fly (53.20) and 200 IM (2:02.26).

Nymo wrapped up long course season at Summer Junior Nationals, where she finaled in all three butterfly events (29th/13th/23rd) and also swam the 50 back and 200 IM.

Nymo’s best times would already score, or be within a tenth of scoring, at the SEC Championships in the ‘C’ finals of the 100 fly and 200 fly.

Nymo will be joined by “Best of the Rest” verbal commits Leah Inman (sprint free, back, IM), Zona Smith (sprint free, back), McKenzie Cory (back, free), and Isabella Green (breast, fly, IM), creating a formidable training group for fall 2028.
