Ryan Garcia wants Floyd Mayweather to stop talking and commit to February 6, but the bigger sales job is convincing fans that beating the retired star would carry championship value. Mayweather’s name can sell the event. His unbeaten record gives Garcia something even easier to advertise.

Garcia says Mayweather called him about the fight, and he is now demanding action. His latest post presents February 6 as a date he intends to keep, whether Floyd takes the offer or another opponent gets it.

“You called me and wanted this fight and I agree this is a big fight. But I am fighting FEB6th regardless so unless you actually make this happen then this fight is gone,” Garcia said on X.

“You can go fight whoever but this is for a championship. I will TAKE you 0 with pleasure. Final warning no more games let’s make it happen.”

That unbeaten record is the prize Garcia keeps pointing toward. Taking Mayweather’s first professional defeat would generate enormous attention, but it would not mean Garcia had beaten the fighter who once ruled the sport. Floyd would enter February 6 at 49, approaching his 50th birthday.

Garcia is entitled to chase the biggest commercial fight available. Fans are equally entitled to distinguish between beating a famous former champion and beating an elite opponent in his prime. Putting a championship belt into the promotion does not erase that distinction.

Teofimo Lopez has also been mentioned for Garcia’s February return, giving this public ultimatum another purpose: pressure on Mayweather to commit while Garcia advertises that he has alternatives. February 6, 2027, was already being discussed before this latest post.

Garcia’s message establishes what he wants, rather than what both sides have signed. There is no completed agreement announced in the post, and his account of Mayweather’s call remains his account.

The demand is clear enough. Garcia wants Floyd’s name and unbeaten record on the contract. Until that happens, threatening to take the zero is promotion for a fight still waiting to become real.
