Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Boróka Orbán from Budapest, Hungary, has verbally committed to swim at the University of Nebraska beginning in fall 2027. She wrote on social media:
“I am incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Nebraska. I cannot thank my family, my coaches, and my teammates enough for helping me get to where I am today. I’d also like to thank Coach Pablo and Coach Pat for giving me the opportunity to swim at such an excellent program. I feel like Nebraska is the best fit for me because it will continue to challenge me academically and athletically, while providing a great atmosphere for an amazing college experience. I can’t wait to be a part of the Husker family! Go Big Red!!!”
Orbán swims for Ferencvarosi Torna Club. She most recently competed at the 2026 European Junior Championships, where she anchored Hungary’s 400 medley relay to a 5th place finish, splitting a 55.94 in finals after a 56.36 in prelims. She also split a 2:02.64 on the 800 free relay, which placed 8th in finals, and a 55.99 on the 400 free relay in prelims
Orbán’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
- 100 free: 56.05 (49.05)
- 200 free: 2:03.06 (1:47.98)
- 400/500 free: 4:19.72 (4:51.00)
The Nebraska women finished 10th out of 14 teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships and went on to finish 27th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Genevieve Jorgenson led the team with 18 individual points at NCAAs including a 4th place finish in the 1650 free.
Based on her best converted times, Orbán would already make the Big Ten ‘C’ final in the 100 free and is just off the 1:47.41 it took to final in the 200 free. Beatrix Tanko was the team’s only finalist in the 100 free as she won the ‘C’ final in a 48.56.
Orbán will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Jaime Mote, Laura Menzies, and Charlotte Qualley. Mote is from South Africa while Menzies is from New Zealand.
