Next week’s episode of WWE NXT is set to air on Wednesday instead of the usual Tuesday due to election coverage.
As such, the show is set to go head to head with AEW’s Blood & Guts special episode of Dynamite, which will feature the two titular matches.
WWE has already announced several big names for the show, including Cody Rhodes presenting the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with the trophy, John Cena appearing following his return the previous night on Raw, and UFC’s Michael Chandler serving as the enforcer for Dion Lennox vs. Cruz Montana.
Kelani Jordan to defend the NXT Women’s Championship
On tonight’s NXT Halloween Havoc show, Kelani Jordan defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Wren Sinclair, picking up the win to keep hold of the title.
After her win, Kelani spoke to NXT General Manager Robert Stone backstage, where he revealed that she would be defending her title again on next week’s NXT show.
Stone announced that Kelani would defend against a mystery opponent on the show after noting that he had spoken to both Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis following Kelani’s appearance on Raw.
Here are some potential opponents for Kelani Jordan next week on NXT.
IYO SKY
On this week’s WWE NXT show, Kelani Jordan was shown confronting IYO SKY backstage during her appearance on Raw.
With WWE bringing a lot of it’s top stars to NXT for the show next week, it would make sense for IYO to be among those names.
While the match would likely not go to a clean finish, IYO getting a short run with the NXT Women’s Championship where she defends across all brands would help both her and the belt.
Tatum Paxley
When it was announced that Kelani would defend against a mystery opponent, Tatum Paxley noted that it could be her, as she still owes Kelani after facing her in her final NXT match.
The crowd got behind Tatum, so WWE could see the reaction she got after teasing the match and make her be the name to challenge Kelani next week.
Jordynne Grace
Jordynne Grace has not appeared on WWE main roster television since April, with no signs of the Juggernaut appearing on the show again any time soon.
Grayson Waller currently reigns as NXT Champion after he returned to the brand to finally win the title he never won.
If the main roster aren’t going to use Jordynne, her doing the same thing with the NXT Women’s Championship would at least give her something to do.
