The main event of WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two was the last time most fans saw Seth Rollins in action inside the squared-circle, with “The Visionary” only competing a handful of times during WWE’s tour of South America in September.
While WWE is reportedly waiting for a “maximum impact” scenario to bring Rollins back, three months is a fairly long time for WWE to not be able to figure out some creative plans for the former World Heavyweight Champion.
With the last of WWE’s ‘big four’ PLEs, Survivor Series 2026, approaching on November 28, here are three potential plans for Seth Rollins’ return:
Team with The Bloodline inside WarGames
WWE SummerSlam 2026 saw Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns satisfyingly conclude their over 10-year WWE rivalry, with respect being shown between the two former Shield brothers.
This is what has made Seth Rollins’ options somewhat limited for a return to Raw, as WWE will have had to find something for him to do outside of the World Heavyweight Title picture.
Fans have had their fill of seeing Rollins and Reigns as enemies, but there’s certainly novelty in them teaming together as it’s been seven years since they last did so.
If a Bloodline vs. 946 five vs. five WarGames match is on the cards for Survivor Series, then both sides will be needing one more new addition before November 28. The likeliest Bloodline recruit is obviously Jacob Fatu, but if “The Samoan Werewolf” happens to find himself on team 946 or missing Survivor Series altogether, then Roman Reigns could turn to Seth Rollins.
Drew McIntyre
Seth Rollins isn’t the only top WWE star that has been on the sidelines for several months, as Drew McIntyre has actually been off TV for twice the length of time as “The Visionary.”
Drew was last seen back at WrestleMania 42 Night One, when he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match.
Rumors of a return have picked up a lot in recent weeks, as “The Scottish Warrior” has now wrapped up his various acting projects and recently made an appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast.
If McIntyre isn’t also going to factor into the WarGames plans somehow, WWE could kills two birds with one stone by bringing both he and Seth Rollins back to TV for a feud against one another. While it’s hard to know what the storyline justification for the feud would be exactly, they are two stars with a lot of history, so WWE shouldn’t have too much trouble cooking up a motive.
LA Knight
Unlike Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, LA Knight has only been off WWE TV a few weeks, but given the context in which he was last involved, his absence is enough to raise some eyebrows.
“The Megastar” was last seen failing to dethrone Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title at Money in the Bank, and aside from one interview appearance the following night on Raw, he has not been back on our screens.
Knight is another name speculated to potentially wind up involved in WarGames; whether that be burying the hatchet with The Bloodline and teaming with them, or siding with 946 and turning heel. While both of those options sound interesting, WWE could always have other plans that don’t involve Knight whatsoever.
Rather than keeping Knight off TV for months like they’ve done with Rollins, WWE could still turn Knight heel but have him pivot away from the World Heavyweight Title and instead towards one of his old rivals from a year ago: Seth Rollins.
