A late change has been made to the Argentina XV roster for Friday’s match against England A at Bath. A boost has come with the inclusion of a Puma though it comes with two members of the roster now unavailable to play against the English.
This past weekend’s United Rugby Championship (URC) match between Benetton and Edinburgh came at a cost. Hooker Bautista Bernasconi took a knock and will not be able to play for the Argentina XV. Fellow Benetton front-rower, Matías Medrano was sent off in the same match.
Argentina XV head coach Álvaro Galindo has adjusted his roster accordingly with Ignacio Calles called-up. Calles has eight test caps for Argentina. While technically covering both loose head prop and hooker, Calles has played at loose head for his country.
The 31-year-old plays his rugby in France for Bayonne in the Top 14. He has not been selected for international duty for Los Pumas in 2026. He received notable game time for Los Pumas in 2024 including playing in the win over world champions, South Africa in the Rugby Championship.
