Frank Warren says he knows nothing about Tyson Fury picking up an injury in camp, leaving Frank Bruno’s recent claim completely unbacked ahead of the Anthony Joshua fight.

Warren seemed surprised when asked about the talk surrounding Fury’s preparation for the December 11 date in Cardiff. He gave no support to the injury talk, though he stopped short of officially declaring Fury totally fit.

“That’s news to me. That’s news to me. Absolute news to me,” Warren repeated to the media today when asked about Bruno’s comments.

Bruno spoke publicly about hearing whispers that Fury suffered a setback in training. That remains unconfirmed, with no specific injury mentioned or verified. Casual gym talk happens all the time, and it is a long way from something serious enough to derail a massive bout.

Warren being Fury’s promoter means people naturally pay attention to his words, but observers need to look at the whole picture. Saying he has not heard anything bad is not the same as checking in directly with the trainers or getting an official update from a doctor. Nobody followed up by asking if he had spoken to the gym.

After waiting years for Fury and Joshua to finalize a deal, boxing followers get nervous at the slightest rumor. The bout took ages to put together, so nobody wants to see another delay. Still, nothing Warren said points to the Cardiff date being at risk.

The promoter kept right on talking up the event, including the addition of Deontay Wilder against Jai Opetaia on the undercard. He also fielded a question about Fury’s next move, with Daniel Dubois brought up as a possible future opponent.

“When Tyson wins the fight, he’ll make his choice what he wants to do,” Warren said.

That keeps Fury’s plans after Joshua completely open. Warren made no promises about facing Dubois or going after other champions, which makes sense before his fighter gets through the biggest domestic night of his career.

Right now, the focus is on whether any real facts emerge from the gym. Bruno’s standing ensures the story gets attention, but his name alone does not prove what is taking place in camp. Warren’s surprise does not completely shut down the conversation either.

Until Team Fury comes out with something concrete, there is no real basis for an injury crisis. Warren pushed back on the talk; the fight stays locked in for Cardiff, and the rumor simply lacks the substance to treat it as a done deal.
