6 Changes To WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
WWE
WWE will present arguably the biggest Saturday Night’s Main Event since the revival with the July 18 edition taking place from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
With only two episodes of WWE TV before the show, there are various changes that might take place up and down the card ahead the company’s return to NYC.
From some segments building SummerSlam 2026 to added stipulations and stakes for matches already announced, there are some great ways to enhance the evening for the fans in attendance and watching at home.
Here are six potential changes to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
6. Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi Hell In A Cell Match Contract Signing Added To The Lineup

At WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar. After this loss, Lesnar seemingly signaled a potential retirement by laying his gloves and boots in the center of the ring.
Lesnar shocked many fans by returning just a month later to attack Femi. Brock then went on to avenge his loss with a win over ‘The Ruler’ at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
Following weeks of trash talk, Lesnar returned to confront and attack his rival after Femi’s King of the Ring win. This led to the challenge being laid out for a rubber match inside Hell In A Cell at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
With mere weeks ahead of this showdown, WWE could draw a ton of attention to Saturday Night’s Main Event by adding Oba and Brock to the lineup even if it is just a contract signing. Hopefully, they have more security this time though.
5. Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh Becomes A Lumberjack Match

Over the past few weeks, Danhausen has been feuding with The Judgment Day after taking their money and cursing them.
This led to The Judgment Day stealing Danhausen’s custom made Knicks jersey and a match being set for ‘The Very Nice, Very Evil’ star to clash with JD McDonagh at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
While this bout seems to be a potential headliner for the event due to Danhausen’s popularity in New York, the company could add some smoke and mirrors to make sure this one meets the highest expectations.
Danhausen facing McDonagh in a Lumberjack Match would open the door for both Judgment Day or the New York Knicks players to get involved in the proceedings in MSG.
4. The Vision vs. Alpha Academy For The WWE World Tag Team Championship Gets Added

On the July 6 edition of WWE Raw, The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker defeated The Street Profits to win the World Tag Team Championship.
This win came as a result of Maxxine Dupri showing her true colors by helping her new love Theory get the job to bring gold back to The Vision.
Thanks to this heel turn for Dupri, this may bring Alpha Academy back into the tag team title scene.
Otis and Akira Tozawa challenging The Vision should make for an interesting title bout on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card that could tell an exciting underdog babyface story.
3. Blake Monroe Makes Her Main Roster In-Ring Debut Against Chelsea Green

Over the past few weeks, Blake Monroe has been calling out different female stars on the WWE main roster ahead of her debut on SmackDown.
Then on the June 26 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Monroe attacked Giulia to make her official main roster arrival.
Since then, the former Mariah May has laid out Giulia, Kiana James and Chelsea Green in backstage segments in recent weeks.
After this most recent assault on the two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion, Monroe may have found the perfect opponent in Green to face in her main roster in-ring debut at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
2. CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER & Sami Zayn Gets High Stakes

On the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk made his return to the company for the first time since the Raw after WrestleMania 42 to defeat Sami Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Then on the July 10 Friday Night SmackDown, Rhodes issued the challenge to Punk for a title bout on the WWE SummerSlam 2026 card. After Punk accepted, GUNTHER gave SmackDown GM Nick Aldis an ultimatum to make it right.
While he was eventually laid out by ‘The Ring General,’ Aldis did announce that it will be Punk and Rhodes facing GUNTHER and Zayn at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, but there could be added stakes.
Giving them the chance to earn their way into the SummerSlam main event, WWE could insert the stipulation that whoever scores the pin if GUNTHER and Sami win this big time bout from Madison Square Garden, they get added to the SummerSlam match.
1. LA Knight, Solo Sikoa & Royce Keys vs. The Bloodline Added To The Card

Over the past few months, there has been plenty of drama surrounding The Bloodline whether it be on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night Raw.
Among their current enemies on Raw is LA Knight, who has become the most vocal detractor of The Bloodline. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa has been denying offers to rejoin his family in the faction in recent weeks.
This has led to Royce Keys being caught in the line of fire after wanting to help his friend Jacob Fatu get out of what he finds himself with in The Bloodline.
A huge six-man tag team match pitting The Bloodline’s Fatu and The Usos vs. Knight, Sikoa and Keys would be extremely intriguing and draw a lot of attention for the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event from New York City.
