WWE/AAA
Following WWE AAA Worlds Collide 2026, El Grande Americano is still the AAA Mega Champion.
The masked man has been on a roll ever since winning the gold at WWE AAA TripleMania 34.
Now that Worlds Collide is in the books, it should be interesting to see who will be next to step up to Americano.
Here are five potential next AAA Mega Championship challengers for El Grande Americano.
Dominik Mysterio
At WWE AAA TripleMania 34 Night Two, El Grande Americano defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the AAA Mega Title.
“Dirty Dom” and El Ojo have been protesting this loss due to AAA GM Rey Mysterio coming out to count the 1-2-3.
Looking to regain his gold, it would make sense if Mysterio was the first challenger for Americano.
With El Ojo and Judgment Day by his side, Dominik Mysterio has everything it takes to make El Grande’s title reign short-lived.
Mr. Iguana
For the past few weeks, fans have seen a more determined Mr. Iguana on the hunt for gold.
At WWE AAA TripleMania 34 Friday, Iguana came up short against La Parka in an AAA Latin American Championship three-way match with Laredo Kid.
While he took the loss, Iguana has proclaimed that he still intends on being champion.
Aiming higher up for this opportunity, Iguana could challenge El Grande Americano for the AAA Mega Championship and show he has what it takes to hold to the top prize in Mexico.
Dragon Lee
Dragon Lee has been riding a wave of momentum in both WWE and Lucha Libre AAA.
Whether it be against Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship or picking up a win over Jack Cartwheel, Lee has showcased himself to be one of the best in-ring competitors in the world.
The masked luchador is in the AAA Cruiserweight division, but he could move up in the weight class.
Dragon Lee challenging El Grande Americano could make for an intriguing title bout for the new Mega Champion.
Daga
Back in June, Los Perros Del Mal made their return to AAA under the leadership of Daga.
With Angel, Berto and Karmen Petrovic by his side, Daga and Los Perros have been running roughshod over the entire AAA roster.
When they first made their re-debut, Los Perros viciously attacked none other than El Grande Americano.
Wanting to reignite this rivalry, Daga could be the one to challenge Americano for the AAA Mega Championship sooner rather than later.
Omos
At WWE AAA TripleMania 34 Friday, Omos defeated Rey Mysterio to get himself reinstated to the promotion.
Post match, Omos chokeslammed Mysterio through the commentary table, while he was strapped to a gurney.
“The Nigerian Giant” then won the Copa Bardahl and got involved in the El Grande Americano vs. Dominik Mysterio AAA Mega Title match at TripleMania 34 Sunday.
Looking to bring the gold back to El Ojo, Omos might be the perfect challenger for El Grande Americano’s AAA Mega Championship right now.
