Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Meagan Gordon, a Sectionals finalist and California state championships qualifier, will trade in the west for the east next season, as the California native has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Boston University beginning in the fall of 2027.
“I am very excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Boston University! I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for their unwavering support and encouragement. I am forever grateful for Beach Cities Alpha and Coach Justin and Coach Jacinta for their invaluable coaching. Lastly, thank you to Coach James and Coach Stephen for giving me such an incredible opportunity. I can’t wait for the next four years. GO TERRIERS!!!”
A senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, Gordon began competing for her school’s varsity swimming and diving team as a sophomore. She currently trains year-round with Beach Cities Alpha, where she primarily specializes in breaststroke and butterfly.
Gordon turned in a series of strong performances at the 2025 GWSC Winter Age Group Invitational in December. She won the 200 breast in 2:20.00 after clocking a lifetime best time of 2:19.17 during prelims, and she placed 6th in the 100 fly in 58.71.
At the 2026 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 2 Championship in May, Gordon earned a second swim in both of her individual races, taking 5th in the 100 breast (1:04.51) and 100 fly (56.53 – PB). A few weeks later, she competed at the CIF State Championship, where she contested the 100 breast (1:05.07) and 100 fly (57.07).
Gordon posted a string of top swims at the 2026 Walnut Sectionals (LCM), earning a second swim in two events. She placed 24th in the 50 fly (29.36 – PB), 33rd in the 200 breast (2:49.15 – SB) and 41st in the 100 breast (1:18.71 – SB). She also contested the 100 free (1:01.30).
Gordon still holds several lifetime best times from the 2024-2025 season, including in the 50 free (24.43), 100 free (53.49), 100 breast (1:03.42) and 200 fly (2:22.38).
Best Times SCY
- 100 breast – 1:03.42
- 200 breast – 2:19.17
- 100 fly – 56.53
- 200 fly – 2:22.38
- 50 free – 24.43
- 100 free – 53.49
Boston University is a Division I Mid-Major program and competes in the Patriot League, with the women’s team taking 4th-place at last season’s conference championships. Based on the results from the 2026 Patriot League Championships, Gordon’s top times would have landed her in the ‘B’ final in the 100 breast and 200 breast and the ‘C’ final in the 100 fly, setting her up to be a strong contributor right from the start.
On the team itself, Gordon would have been the Terriers’ 2nd-fastest competitor in the 100 breast and 3rd-fastest in the 200 breast last season. Boston’s top two breaststrokers from last season, Hadar Miller and Ani Winter, will both still be on the roster when Gordon joins the team next fall, but Gordon should be in a position to be a top point-scorer in the breaststroke events.
Currently set to join Gordon in Boston next fall are Naomi Romero Serrano, Ella Peterson and Ady Elko, who should all make for strong training partners over their four years together.
