Since WWE purchased AAA last year, the brand has seen a renewed interest among fans.
As AAA continues to grow, the company have now announced that the first AAA show of 2027 will take place at Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco, Mexico.
With the venue able to hold up to 12,000 fans, we will likely see many big matches take place on the show.
Flammer vs. La Hiedra vs. Maravilla
After Flammer’s reign of over 1000 days with the Reina de Reinas Championship came to an end at TripleMania, the tensions within Las Toxicas have continued to grow.
With La Hiedra being the only member of the group currently reigning as champion, her and Flammer seem destined for a split, with Maravilla failing to play peacemaker.
As the tensions continue to mount, we could see all three of Las Toxicas face off at the big show in Acapulco.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship – IYO SKY vs. La Catalina
IYO SKY, La Catalina and Roxanne Perez faced off in a Money In The Bank Qualifier on Raw
With AAA set to run such a major venue, WWE will likely send members of the main roster to AAA to take part in the show.
IYO SKY is currently set to challenge for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship soon, which she hopefully wins so she can finally have something to do on the show.
If IYO does win the Intercontinental Title, WWE needs to make sure it’s an impactful reign the likes of Penta and Chad Gable, and the best way to do so is to have her defend against anyone and everyone.
IYO and La Catalina were part of the same Money In The Bank qualifier, and fans continue to await their first singles match.
AAA Mega Championship – El Grande Americano vs. Omos
Omos debuted in AAA as part of last year’s Copa Bardahl Battle Royal
After defeating Dominik Mysterio in a rematch at Heroes Immortales, El Grande Americano will now need to face off against someone else coming out of the show.
Omos attempted to help out Dominik during the match on last night’s show, but he was stopped by Rey Mysterio.
AAA putting the Nigerian Giant in with it’s top babyface will have the entire crowd behind the champion in a major way.
Mask vs. Hair – Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio
It was recently reported that Rey Mysterio was potentially set to retire from in-ring competition in 2027.
Last year, the same thing was said about AJ Styles, who ended up wrapping up his career in January instead of staying until later in the year.
If a similar situation takes place with Rey next year, him facing his son in Acapulco would be a major ticket mover.
