WWE picking Tiffany Stratton to win the Money in the Bank for the second time in two years was always going to ruffle some feathers, but the creative team certainly aren’t doing anything to prove their detractors wrong with their booking of her run with the briefcase thus far.

Much like during her first time as “Tiffy in the Bank” in 2024, Stratton has already teased pulling the trigger on a cash-in. Actually, she’s already done it twice in less than a week.

A cash-in is one of the most excitement moments WWE deliver, but if you tease it too often without the bell actually ringing then it quickly becomes tiresome.

Time after time we see WWE referees not understand the concept of a Money in the Bank cash-in – despite their being 2o years of reference material to study up on – and then before you know it the champion has either recovered enough to escape, an ally has helped them get out of dodge, or someone has levelled the briefcase holder before they get to hand it over to the official.

While Stratton’s example was more egregious, it’s worth noting that WWE also teased Penta cashing-in on Sami Zayn on Raw. But again, this didn’t lead to anything; three teased cash-ins in a week and there was nothing to show for it.

WWE needs to do more to differentiate this Tiffany Stratton Money in the Bank run from the last, or just get it over with

As mentioned, Stratton’s cash-in teases were something we saw on more than one occasion during her first run with the briefcase.

In fact, on the October 14, 2024 episode of Raw, Stratton attempted to snatch the Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan, only for Dominik Mysterio to drag his on-screen girlfriend out of harms way – which is, of course EXACTLY what also happened this past Monday.

Back then, we all knew the cash-in wasn’t going to be successful because it was clear as day that Stratton would be taking the WWE Women’s Title from her ally at the time: Nia Jax. Fast forward two years and WWE has booked Stratton into almost the exact same storyline with this second Money in the Bank run.

Once again, we all know she’s going to turn her back on her friend Chelsea Green and take her WWE Women’s Title despite appearing to be targeting Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship. The first time WWE did the storyline it was fine enough – not everything has to be super unexpected after all – but choosing to do the exact same thing again is just lazy booking, especially when they had a much more interesting angle on the table had Roxanne Perez won the briefcase.

So, quite simply WWE must either switch things up by not going the obvious route of Stratton turning on Green, or just get it over with.

Please WWE, do not put us through months of attempted cash-ins just to get to the outcome we all expect to happen in the end anyway.

With both Chelsea Green and Liv Morgan in the ring at the same time at Crown Jewel, that show makes the most sense for WWE to execute their cash-in. Only unlike when they did it two years ago at the same event – in the same Women’s Crown Jewel Title match also featuring Liv Morgan – Stratton should actually succeed and get this heel run of hers going already.
