TNA Wrestling has had a busy few weeks when it comes to acquisitions, with the likes of Shayna Baszler and Shotzi Blackheart signing with the promotion and both Daria Rae and Santino Marella signing new deals.

According to a recent report from Fightful Select, more announcements could be on the way and speculation as already begun regarding what other new signings could arrive and what existing TNA stars could extend their stays.

With some interesting AEW talent potentially departing Tony Khan’s company soon, we could see TNA bolster their roster with some recognisable names.

Here are three AEW stars with expiring contracts that could cross the line to TNA Wrestling:

Anthony Bowens

According to reports from Fightful Select, Anthony Bowens should already be a free agent, with his AEW contract expiring on October 1 along with his former tag team partner Max Caster.

However, there is a little bit of doubt about Bowens’ status now following comments from Caster during a recent K&S WrestleFest signing, where he said that Bowens was still with AEW.

For what it’s worth Bowens is still listed as a member of the AEW roster page, unlike Caster who, of course had a controversial one-off appearance in TNA at Bound for Glory after exiting AEW.

If Bowens is actually a free agent after all then TNA should definitely consider picking him up. Whether it be in the X-Division or potentially even the main event, Bowens still has a lot of untapped potential.

Ortiz

Before arriving in AEW for its launch in 2019, Ortiz and his former tag team partner Mike Santana (now Cruz Montana in WWE) were fixtures of TNA between 2017 and 2019.

Making up two members of the reformed Latin American Xchange faction, the pair won four TNA World Tag Team Championships together and revitalised the group along with Diamante and original members Homicide and Konnan.

After Ortiz and Santana went their separate ways in AEW in 2023, the latter returned to TNA as a singles star whilst Ortiz remained where he was. It’s safe to say Santana’s bold career choice paid off, as he became TNA World Champion in 2025 and signed with WWE this past summer.

While Ortiz and Santana famously are not all that friendly with each other anymore, there could perhaps be a chance for Ortiz to at least try to rebuild his own career in TNA in a similar way to his former tag partner, should he depart AEW when his contract is reportedly up this fall.

Scorpio Sky

Scorpio Sky is another notable AEW original who could be set to depart the company imminently, as it has been reported that his contract is due to expire in October.

In AEW’s first three years of existence, Sky was among the strongest booked stars outside of the main event scene; becoming one half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside Frankie Kazarian and a two-time TNT Champion in 2022.

After several long-term absences however, Sky fell from grace entirely and only found a bit of consistency over the past year or so when he formed SkyFlight alongside Dante & Darius Martin, Christopher Daniels and Leila Grey.

While he is now 43-years-old, Sky is still in great physical shape and hasn’t lost much of a step in the ring, so he would be a no brainer signing for TNA. In TNA Sky would also have the possibility of reuniting with the aforementioned Kazarian, who is still going strong in the promotion to this day.
