On the October 28 AEW Fright Night Dynamite, The Cut and The Death Riders got into another chaotic brawl.
After running roughshod over his rivals, Claudio Castagnoli was taken down by The Cut with three shillelagh shots and then a Blade Runner at the hands of “Switchblade” Jay White.
This led to Castagnoli being stretchered out of the arena, which could open the door for The Death Riders to need someone capable of replacing what “The Swiss Superman” brings to their unit.
Here are four potential AEW replacements for Claudio Castagnoli in The Death Riders.
Ilja Dragunov
At AEW WrestleDream 2026, Ilja Dragunov made his long awaited debut in All Elite Wrestling.
Dragunov has not held any punches since coming into the promotion and looks set to face off with anyone in front of him.
“The Mad Dragon” and his persistent drive feels like a fitting addition to the ethos of what The Death Riders are known for.
With his intensity and unbridled rage, Dragunov feels like someone who would feel right at home next to Jon Moxley and company, making him a logical replacement for Claudio Castagnoli.
Roderick Strong

Since The Death Riders were created, many fans have thought about Roderick Strong joining the faction.
With his wife Marina Shafir playing a pivotal role in the group, Strong has felt like a natural addition to the faction.
While he is a loyal member of The Conglomeration, “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” has made it no secret that he doesn’t always agree with his stablemates’ ways of going about business in the ring.
Strong deciding to join The Death Riders would be a long time coming and see him paired up with his wife in a significant way.
Eddie Kingston
Another individual who certainly has ties to members of The Death Riders is Eddie Kingston.
While he is a long time rival of Claudio Castagnoli, Kingston has had friendship with Jon Moxley that has spanned decades.
“The Mad King” has not been consistently featured on AEW TV in recent months and this move could change that.
Kingston joining forces with The Death Riders would be a full circle moment, especially if he is replacing Castagnoli in the faction.
Sheamus

In October, Sheamus became a free agent after his time with WWE officially came to an end.
There has been plenty of speculation that “The Celtic Warrior” could make his way to All Elite Wrestling since then.
Recent reports have indicated that Claudio Castagnoli has been one of the AEW stars who have been pushing for the company to sign Sheamus.
Considering their history together in WWE as The Bar, Sheamus is someone who could shine in Claudio’s place alongside his fellow Death Riders in AEW.
