Atlético Madrid ready to deal Barcelona another transfer blow

The board at Atlético Madrid look set to continue frustrating their counterparts at La Liga rivals Barcelona with their actions on the transfer front over the coming days.
This comes amid the understanding that the Rojiblancos are readying a decisive push to bring in Jorge Salinas.
Youngster Salinas has for his part been heavily linked with a move away from Racing Santander this summer. After playing a starring role in the club’s promotion back to the top-flight of Spanish football at just 18, the versatile defender has piqued the interest of a whole host of clubs.
Chief among them are the aforementioned Barcelona, who have been tipped to bring Salinas in throughout the window to date.
As alluded to above, though, with the Blaugrana yet to meet the demands set out by their Racing counterparts, Atlético Madrid are ready to throw their hat in the ring.
As per a report from journalist Marcos Durán, all whilst continuing to leave those in the Camp Nou boardroom frustrated over Julián Alvarez:
‘The idea of Atlético de Madrid is to sign Jorge Salinas once Matteo Ruggeri goes to Aston Villa. Salinas was on the radar of several Premier League teams, but the Atlético option appeals to him more.’
