Brie Bella Compares WWE Star To Daniel Bryan Following Championship Win
WWE
Brie Bella has compared a recent WWE Championship victory to the organic way in which Daniel Bryan rose to prominence.
With Rhea Ripley sidelined with an injury, a tournament to determine the Interim WWE Women’s Champion came to a head at SummerSlam in a ladder match, with Chelsea Green being the victor.
Addressing the moment on the Nikki & Brie Show, Brie Bella would compare her journey to the reaction Daniel Bryan received in WWE, saying:
“Her moment reminds me of the moments Bryan had where the fans were so behind you, and they’re rooting so hard for you, and it just organically happens.
“And then when, finally, WWE gives you that moment, it’s like a moment for Chelsea, but also a moment for the fans, so everyone celebrates, and it just feels really good.
“All of us were celebrating. Like, we were so happy for her. I was so happy for her.”

Green defeated Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton the aforementioned ladder match on Night 2 of SummerSlam.
The twins would share their joy at seeing Green’s family, including her husband and fellow WWE star Matt Cardona, witness the moment, too.
Ripley recently confirmed that she had undergone surgery to tackle the knee injury that she sustained.
The Organic Reaction Gets The Star Over
Either WWE stars are made by creative or by the fans, depending on who you ask and what the circumstances are surrounding the rise to prominence.
Triple H has recently suggested that the “it’s my turn” narrative is a falsehood, during comments made on the SummerSlam Night 1 Post-Show, leaning into the idea that getting over the fans is a way to secure the much sought after top spots.
For Daniel Bryan, now Bryan Danielson in AEW, his rise to popularity among the fans saw the start of the “Yes! Movement”, having been cast as little but a “B+ Player” during his rivalry with Triple H and The Authority. The fans got behind Bryan in that moment, not just because of the story, but as a recognition of the quality of the star which had been demonstrated not just in WWE but over years on the international independent scene.
The same can be said of Chelsea Green, now in her second run as a WWE star, having made her comeback in the women’s Royal Rumble match of 2023 and instantly capturing the hearts of the fans through both her antics and in-ring ability.
The inaugural (and two-time) WWE Women’s United States Champion, a former Women’s Tag Team Champion and now the Interim Women’s Champion, it looks like her ability to “maximize her minutes” has paid off with a top championship in her division.
