College Swimming League Match 6
The final match (Match #6) of the regular season of the first season of the College Swimming League (CSL) has sold out. This is the first time a college dual meet has ever sold out of tickets and is one of the highest attended college dual meets in history.
“Selling out a building in October is not something college swimming does. Athens did it. The audience for this sport has always existed, and this is what it looks like when you give it a real reason to show up,” said CSL COO Kyle Sockwell.
Match #6 is taking place in Athens, Georgia on campus at Georgia and features fellow SEC programs Auburn, Tennessee, and Alabama. Seating capacity at Gabrielsen Natatorium is 2,000 spectators. Ticket prices were $100 for on-deck suites and $25 for general admission. Each on-deck VIP suite has 19 seats across from each of the four teams competing in the match.
This is not the first time that the CSL has had high ticket numbers as Match #3 had a total attendance of 2,071 ticketed spectators.
There are two matches remaining in the season with the Wild Card, Match #7, scheduled for Thursday, November 5th, and the Final, Match #8, scheduled for Friday, November 6th. Both the Wild Card and Final match will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana.
