College Swim League — Match Three
The College Swimming League’s match #3 had over 1,700 tickets sold, the broadcast announced at the start of the match. Match #3 is taking place at Stanford’s Avery Aquatics Center. 1,700 tickets sold is significantly more than most dual meet attendance numbers, which are usually free to attend.
With over 1,700 tickets sold, match #3 already surpasses the combined ticket sales from matches 1 and 2 that took place at Westmont, Illinois to kick off the season last Thursday and Friday. Westmont had 493 tickets sold for match #1 and 714 tickets sold for match #2.
Coming into the week, over 1,000 tickets had been sold for match #3 including all of the on-deck VIP suites being sold out. Capacity at Avery Aquatic Center is 2,000 seats. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $100 for the on-deck VIP suites. Each on-deck VIP suite has 19 seats across from each of the four teams competing in the match.
Kyle Sockwell just texted me that he thinks there are over 2,000 people at the Stanford meet right now. Some of the issues is because he thinks that’s overloading the internet.
You’d be shocked at how many of the problems at swim meets are because of internet.
