Cricket Australia denies Mitchell Marsh, Matt Short full SA20 2027 NOCs
Mitchell Marsh and Matt Short will not be available for the entire next season of SA20 2027, as Cricket Australia has denied providing the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).
On August 7, through an official press release, CA confirmed that both of the star cricketers will be available for the Big Bash League 2026-27 season. As the schedules of the BBL 2026-27 and SA20 clash briefly with each other, Mitchell Marsh and Matt Short will not be entirely available to play in South Africa’s franchise league.
Cricket Australia refuses full SA20 2027 NOCs to Mitchell Marsh, Matt Short
Ahead of CA’s official release, it was confirmed that Marsh and Short would play in South Africa’s franchise league as the two marquee signings. After Cricket Australia’s announcement, the situation has turned drastically.
The pair of Aussie batters are all set to play in the SA20 for the first time in their professional cricket career. Australia’s men’s T20I captain Marsh is contracted to join Sunrisers Leeds. The SA20 season begins on January 17, 2027.
The previous night of the 2027 SA20 opener, Matt Short’s Adelaide Strikers are scheduled to host Marsh’s Perth Scorchers in both teams’ final match of the BBL16 regular season.
