Dusan Vlahovic set to accept Besiktas contract offer

Former Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is now reportedly open to joining Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas on a Bosman deal. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Istanbul giants have prepared a mind-blowing salary to lure the 26-year-old striker to the Bosphorus.
Dusan Vlahovic refused to sign a new contract in Turin despite Juventus’ best efforts to extend his stay. He left the club as a free agent at the end of last season, with many expecting him to join a top team amid interest from several elite Serie A clubs and numerous foreign powerhouses.
Inter, Milan, and Napoli had all been linked with the former Fiorentina man. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s once strong interest has waned. The Gunners’ withdrawal from the race was supposed to open the door for Chelsea and Manchester United, two other long-term admirers of the Serbian ace.
However, Vlahovic is likely to continue his career in Turkey.
Our take on Besiktas & Vlahovic
Besiktas remain the only club to present Vlahovic with a tangible offer. However, the player has taken his time to consider his options, hoping for a call from one of Europe’s top five leagues. Since that hasn’t been the case, he’s now ready to accept the Turks’ invitation to move to Istanbul.
New Besiktas boss Vincenzo Italiano has reportedly called Vlahovic to convince him to join the Black Eagles. Furthermore, they’re willing to hand the star center-forward a substantial signing bonus and an eye-watering salary. Indeed, Gazzetta states he would earn around €10m net per season.
