England and Argentina next-of-XV’s to battle it out in November
The Argentina XV confirmed a tour match against England ‘A’ on Friday November 06 at the Recreation Ground in Bath, England. The match will be uncapped and take-place on the same day as Los Pumas’ set match against Ireland in Dublin as part of the Nations Championship.
The Argentina XV are coming off a second-place finish in the 2026 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC). The Argentina XV defeated Paraguay and the Uruguay XV but fell to the Chile XV.
Over the past decade (2016–2026), the Argentina XV has faced a diverse mix of tier-two national teams, regional South American rivals, and secondary “A” selections from elite European and Southern Hemisphere rugby nations.
Opposition countries that the Argentina XV has faced over the mentioned decade include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Canada, USA, Namibia, Georgia, Portugal, Romania and Spain.
The match against England ‘A’ at Bath will be the first meeting between the teams in almost two decades. The last meeting was in 2009 as part of the Churchill Cup. It comes a year after the Argentina XV faced the Bristol Bears in England.
The match against the Argentina XV in Bath marks a return for the England ‘A.’ The English next-of-XV played host to the All Blacks XV at the Recreation Ground in November 2025. The All Blacks XV were 31-14 winners in a European tour that also saw a match against Uruguay in France.
