Matias Ondrej Kristof of Bratislava, Slovakia has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Georgia beginning in fall 2027.

Kristof has represented Slovakia at the 2026 European Junior Championships. There he was highlighted by an 8th place finish in the 200 fly as he swam a 2:01.03. He was faster in semifinals with a lifetime best 2:00.47. His 200 fly finish was much faster than he was a the 2025 edition of the European Junior Championships as he swam a lifetime best 2:03.14 then for 21st.
Kristof’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
- 200 fly: 2:00.47 (1:46.00)
- 200 free: 1:49.39 (1:35.66)
- 400/500 free: 3:54.19 (4:22.39)
The Georgia men finished 4th at the 2026 SEC Championships and went on to finish 15th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Backstroker Ruard Van Renen led the team with 33 individual points at NCAAs.
Based on his best converted times, Kristof is not far off what it took to final at SECs in the 200 fly as it took a 1:44.80 to make it back. He also is about a second off the 1:34.48 it took for a second swim in the 200 free. The 200 fly was Georgia’s highest scoring event at 2026 SECs as the team scored 72 points, led by Luca Urlando‘s win in a 1:38.46 and Drew Hitchcock‘s 2nd place finish in a 1:39.76.
Kristof will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Camden Cook, Alex Goodman, and Will Hartig.
