IPL players are forced to play a series of matches under immense pressure. Due to consecutive matches, especially the three-month-long Indian Premier League (IPL), Indian cricketers are facing injuries, and issues related to their fitness are now common these days.

A source in the BCCI’s Center of Excellence (CoE) recently made some shocking claims while explaining the real reasons behind multiple injuries in the India National Cricket Team. According to the source, IPL is one of the main reasons behind the players’ downgraded fitness.

Indian players forced to play in IPL?

On Sunday, August 9, Vipul Kashyap, an ANI journalist, on his social media post quoted the CoE source. According to the source, players are forced to play in the IPL because of pressure from the franchises and financial reasons. Later, those players are handed over to the CoE physios.

“Players play through injuries during IPL due to franchise and financial pressure and then are dumped onto unsuspecting COE physios, and too much cricket is also the reason that we have players flood here,” according to the CoE source.
