14-year-old Jett Hatchard delivered a major best time in Salt Lake City to climb the 13-14 National Age Group rankings, breaking the 50-second barrier for the first time in his young career and becoming the #34 performer ever in the 100 back for his age group.
Hatchard flew to a new career best in the 100 back in 49.77, after recently swimming a best time of 50.18 earlier in October at the 2026 PC Sprints meet. Not only did this time mark his first time ever under 50 seconds, but it also moved him up the rankings to #34 all time in the 13-14 NAG rankings, up from 60th.
In addition to his 100 back performance, he also notched another two career best times in sprint events; clocking 23.82 in the 50 back, and picking up another in the 50 fly (24.43).
He also competed in the 200 back, touching in 1:50.20, just off of his lifetime best from March at the Southwest Age Group Regional Championships in 1:49.49.
Donnie Lowe, 17, delivered several strong performances as well, notching six lifetime bests, one for each event that he swam. Similar to Hatchard, he picked up best times in the 50 back (24.37) and 100 back (50.99). He also swam his fastest-ever performances in the 50 free (21.64), 200 back (1:50.55), 200 breast (2:23.49), and 100 fly (55.88).
Kai Hale, 17, was another strong performer in Salt Lake, picking up wins in the 17-18 50 free (21.20), 50 back (24.33, lifetime best), 100 back (50.89), and 100 fly (51.18).
