Revolution Aquatic Club 15-year-old Joey Eaddy swam at two meets the final weekend in September, setting a personal best time in the 1650 freestyle and 100 freestyle at the two different meets.

In the 1650 freestyle at the NE CRA Distance & Special meet, Eaddy stopped the clock in 14:55.71 to win the event by about two minutes faster than Arctic Aquatics senior Ben Wu’s 17:03.39 in 2nd.

This swim cut a little more than six seconds off the 15:02.01 he set at the Speedo Sectionals Meet in March of 2026. He also moved up to 12th in the all-time 15-16 boys rankings, sitting just two seconds behind Nathan Szobota‘s 14:53.83. Szobota was also 15 when he set that mark. The NAG record stands at 14:30.01 set by Luka Mijatovic last December.

Eaddy’s swim is the 3rd fastest ever by a 15-year-old. Only Luka Mijatovic, who swam 14:37.63 to be the fastest 15-year-old ever, and Szobota have been faster.

Top Five 15-Year-Olds in History

  1. Luka Mijatovic  — 14:37.63 (2025)
  2. Nathan Szobota — 14:53.83 (2023)
  3. Joey Eaddy — 14:55.71 (2026)
  4. Kai Joyner — 14:56.62 (2026)
  5. Sean Green — 14:57.10 (2023)

Eaddy, a member of the high school class of 2029, will have a few more months to hunt Szobota’s time before he turns 16 on December 2.

At another meet in the same weekend, the NE NSSC SCY Kick Off, Eaddy set a personal best in the 100 free, stopping the clock in 47.24 to take eight tenths off the 48.00 he set in October of 2025. Just a few weeks later, at the start of October, Eaddy took another second-and-a-half off that 100 free time to touch in 46.06.
