Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Junior Nationals qualifier Ava Komoroski has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at Florida State University beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:

I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Florida State University to continue my academic and athletic career. I would like to first thank my parents for supporting me through this process, as well as all of the coaches that have gotten me to where I am today. A big thank you to Coach Neal and Coach Barnes, and the entire FSU staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. GO NOLES!!

A senior at Peters Township High School in Mc Murray, Pennsylvania, Komoroski has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming team since her freshman year. She also trains year-round with Team Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics, where she is a pure sprint freestyle specialist.

Komoroski is coming off a 2025-26 season in which she dropped nearly a full second in the 100 free and just under three tenths in the 50 free. She set her current career bests at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) 3A State Championships in March, finishing runner-up in the 100 free (50.54) and third in the 50 free (23.14) in her first ‘A’ final appearance.

Beyond the short course pool, Komoroski posted a 26.10 in the 50 free (LCM) over the summer, a time that qualifies her for both Winter (SCY) and Summer (LCM) Junior Nationals.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 Freestyle: 23.14
  • 100 Freestyle: 50.54

A Division I program, Florida State competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference, with the women’s team placing 10th out of 15 teams in 2026. To score at the meet, times of 22.56 and 48.91 were needed in the 50 and 100 free, putting Komoroski outside the cutoffs for now, though she still has two full seasons of training ahead before lining up at her first conference meet.

Komoroski joins Grayson Brewster, Leah Chin, Aidyn Reese, and Madeline Webb in committing to the Seminoles’ class of 2031 so far.
