After weeks of speculation, the Friday, July 10 episode of SmackDown saw the return of Baron Corbin to WWE.
Laying out Carmelo Hayes and United States Champion Trick Williams, Corbin has set himself up for some exciting plans going forward, but he may not be the only former WWE star to show up in the company soon.
Here are six former WWE stars to potentially return after Baron Corbin.
6. Enzo Amore & Big Cass
Along with Baron Corbin, the other two names most frequently linked to a return to WWE over the past few months has been Enzo Amore and Big Cass.
It was reported in May that Enzo had visited the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with the former Cruiserweight Champion said to be planned for the NXT brand.
It was then reported two weeks ago that Amore’s former tag team partner Big Cass (Big Bill) was set to depart AEW in order to return to WWE.
At the time of writing, Cass is still listed on the AEW roster page, so it appears his contract is not yet up. However, it feels like a matter of time before the ‘Realest Guys in the Room’ step back through the door in WWE.
5. Eric Young

It was recently confirmed that TNA Wrestling veteran Eric Young had been released by the company, which he later revealed was at his own request.
Following this news, it was reported that Young is soon to be WWE bound for what would be the third time, with his first run in the company spanning between 2016-2020, and second tenure in 2022-2023, which saw him not make a single appearance on TV.
His third run in WWE is reportedly set to be slightly different however, as Young is set for a player/coach role, which will see him work on NXT TV, as well as behind the scenes.
This is similar to the role that Shawn Spears currently plays in NXT, and like the former Tye Dillinger, Young’s experience will be a valuable addition to the company’s young stars coming through the Performance Center.
4. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
Another notable tandem who could potentially be on there way back to WWE is former three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).
In late May it was reported that FTR were approaching their contract option year in AEW, with WWE said to have “preliminary interest” in bringing the former Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder back to the company.
With the pair currently on a hiatus from AEW programming, Dax was recently non-committal on their return date and future in the company, adding to speculation that they could potentially depart in favor of a WWE return.
This isn’t the first time FTR have stoked the flames of speculation when their AEW contracts have been coming up, and as it did in 2023, all this talk may lead to them remaining where they are. However, with them already doing almost everything as a team in AEW, they may fancy a new challenge in a Triple H-led WWE.
3. Dijak
During his time away from WWE, Baron Corbin rebranded himself as Bishop Dyer and held the MLW World Tag Team Titles with Donovan Dijak as The Skyscrapers for 261 days
With Baron Corbin returning to WWE this week, fans may wonder whether his former Skyscrapers tag team partner Donovan Dijak could potentially follow suit.
While there’s been no word on WWE having interest in pursuing Dijak, perhaps later, when Corbin settles back into the company, they may decide to take a look at the MLW star.
Dijak never really got a fair shot at the main roster in WWE, and at the time of his departure in the Summer of 2024, had built up a solid following on social media and appeared to be portraying a character on TV that resonated with fans and himself.
With the WWE tag team division in need of a shot in the arm, The Skyscrapers could be exactly what Raw or SmackDown needs.
2. Karrion Kross & Scarlett

Speaking of MLW, reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross (fka Karrion Kross) has been on a tear on the independent scene since he and his wife Scarlett departed WWE at the end of their contracts in August 2025.
Kross’ popularity had built to its highest point at the time he was let go, and for months many fans hoped that his exit was some kind of work, and he would eventually return to the company with a new contract and a bigger push than ever before.
Sadly this did not come to fruition, but it may not be too late for the former two-time NXT Champion to get another shot.
While there’s been no word on any interest on WWE’s part, Corbin being brought back less than two years from his departure could be a positive sign that WWE take a look at re-signing Kross and Scarlett at some point in the future.
1. The Hardy Boyz
In late 2025, Matt & Jeff Hardy put an end to speculation regarding their futures, when they committed to a new deal with TNA Wrestling.
While these deals were reported to be more long term than the one year contracts they had signed the year prior, fans still anticipate that we will see The Hardy Boyz return to WWE when they eventually decide to call time on their careers.
Matt and Jeff have publicly stated that this is their aim on several occasions, with the pair keen to finish up in the same place they started their journeys 30 years ago.
Undeniably deserving of spots in the WWE Hall of Fame, we should, eventually see The Hardy Boyz back in WWE, even if it’s not any time soon.
