Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $23 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors.
Applications for the 2024 NHS Scholarship will open on September 16th.
To qualify, students must meet the following conditions:
- A third-year high school student who plans to obtain his high school diploma within this year.
- An active member in good standing of a National Honor Society chapter and meets all local chapter membership requirements and obligations.
- NHS student account holder and verified by an NHS branch advisor.
- Plan to earn a degree from an accredited university in the United States.
How much is this year’s individual award?
- 575 national semifinalists will receive prizes $3,200
- 24 national finalists will receive awards $5,625 and All-expenses paid trip to DC Toward Pioneering Leadership Week
- One domestic finalist will receive the award. $25,000 and All-expenses paid trip to DC Toward Pioneering Leadership Week

September 16, 2024: The application opens
November 26, 2024 5:00 PM (ET): Submission deadline
February 2025:The applicant will receive a notification.
April 2025: Pioneering Leadership Week, an all-expenses-paid trip to DC for the top 25 scholarship finalists and their advisors.
