WWE
Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, having held the gold for over two months.
This duo defeated Brie Bella and Paige to become champions at the July 18 Saturday Night’s Main Event special.
Henley and Reid have since defended their gold once, against Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton on the August 7 SmackDown episode.
With the duo’s next title defense lined up, there has been some speculation about the next stars to hold women’s tag-team gold in WWE.
Here are three teams who could become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after Fatal Influence.
Charlotte Flair & Tatum Paxley
Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley are the most immediate threats to Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid’s title reign.
Following Paxley losing her Money in the Bank qualifying match on the October 2 SmackDown episode, Charlotte Flair revealed in a backstage segment that she and Paxley will challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship on October 9.
Paxley has been aligned with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair since her main roster debut in August, and now has the chance to win her first WWE main roster title.
Following reigns with the NXT Women’s North American Title and NXT Women’s Title, we could soon see Paxley win her first championship as a SmackDown star, alongside one of the most decorated women in WWE history.
Jordynne Grace & Ivy Nile
There have reportedly been creative pitches for Ivy Nile and Jordynne Grace to form a WWE tag-team.
Neither Ivy Nile or Jordynne Grace have wrestled on Raw or SmackDown since May, with the duo only wrestling on Main Event in the months since then.
Reports from mid-September revealed that there had been creative pitches within the company to put the two stars together as a tag team, with sources reportedly believing that the company’s recent “Iron Built” trademark filing was related to this potential team.
The two stars have yet to team together, fuelling uncertainty surrounding their statuses. While we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what the future holds for Nile and Grace, it’s very likely that if they are paired together, they will be presented as top title contenders.
Bella Twins
Following Brie Bella’s in-ring return at Royal Rumble, she and Nikki Bella made it clear that their ultimate goal was to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship together.
The duo have been very unfortunate in terms of injuries in the months since then, with Nikki Bella suffering a broken ankle ahead of their scheduled Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42, and Brie Bella suffering a broken scapula at SummerSlam, during Nikki’s return match.
With Brie Bella expected to return to the ring in a few months time, she and Nikki could be the two stars who ultimately dethrone Fatal Influence.
Nikki Bella previously indicated that she will step away from the ring for good at the end of 2027, so the duo will be chasing the Women’s Tag Team Title with some urgency once reunited.
