The LN4 Fusion team co-founded by Formula 1 champion Lando Norris has succeeded in getting on the Formula 2 grid as early as 2027.

F1’s main feeder series F2 has named LN4 Fusion as one of 11 teams selected for the 2027-29 cycle of the championship.

It will compete against 10 established F2 teams, having taken over the entry slot that belonged to race-winning squad AIX Racing (which had sold selected assets to LN4 Fusion and had already handed over its Formula 3 entry slot to the new project).

LN4 Fusion will race under an Italian licence.

Formula Regional graduates Dion Gowda and Gabriel Gomez and Eurocup-3 champion James Egozi (driving for IndyCar star Alex Palou’s team) have already been announced as the all-rookie F3 line-up for the new team, but it is not yet known who will drive for the project in F2.

But its entry to the grid marks the F2 return of ex-Prema luminaries Rene Rosin and Guillaume Capietto, who oversaw successful F2 title campaigns for the likes of Charles Leclerc, Mick Schumacher and Oscar Piastri (as well as a Pierre Gasly title in the last season before GP2 was renamed F2).

The three-year F2 cycle that begins in 2027 will feature a revised car, styled to reflect the latest set of F1 chassis regulations.
