Potential SPOILERS For WWE SummerSlam 2026 World Title Match (WWE News)

Joey Votes of WrestleVotes recently disclosed why WWE bosses canned planned matches for SummerSlam such as Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton (defending the Women’s United States Title) vs. Blake Monroe. Of course, this has everything to do with Rhea Ripley’s injury and the 5-way ladder bout planned for the August PLE, but there’s more to it.

According to Votes, one of the women named in those abandoned matches will leave Minneapolis with the gold. More specifically, it’s expected to be either Flair or Cargill, and WWE didn’t want to book that match separately if Charlotte or Jade was also going to take part in the ladder fray then leave as interim champ.

Monroe hasn’t actually qualified for the match at time of writing though, so her inclusion in the report is interesting. Chelsea Green is the fourth woman who has entered the bout thus far, and another will be named in due course on TV.

That person seems to be collateral, because it looks for all the world like either Flair or Cargill will be leaving Minnesota with a match lined up against Rhea Ripley whenever ‘Mami’ is able to return to action. Obviously, that’d put a red pen through plans for a big PLE singles scrap between Charlotte and Jade.

The only way that’d be possible is if Triple H needs something quick for a follow up special/PLE and Rhea isn’t ready to launch her comeback. So, to recap, it looks likely that either Flair or Cargill will be leaving SummerSlam with a temporary title.
