SmackDown Star Addresses Potentially Working With Real-Life Partner In WWE
WWE
Matt Cardona has commented on the possibility of him having an on-screen partnership with his wife Chelsea Green on WWE TV.
With Cardona and Green now both with WWE, some fans have called for the duo to reunite and work together on TV, following their previous work together on the independent scene.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Cardona noted that he would love to be paired with Chelsea Green on screen.
Noting that some of his favorite career moments was when he was working alongside Green on the indies, Cardona said:
“I mean, I would love that. Some of my greatest times in my career were when we were on the indies together. It was just the best, like traveling together, and it just made the matches so much easier.
“Especially as me being a heel, I have this valet, and also she could wrestle, so we could do mixed tag team matches, and then she can get involved physically. It was the perfect formula.”
Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green last teamed together at the May 21, 2022 AIW show, also teaming with Marino T and Philly C in a losing effort against Britt Baker, Dominic Garrini, Joshua Bishop and Wes Barkley.
Their last two-on-two match together saw them lose to Nick Aldis and Mickie James at the April 1, 2022 TNA Wrestling Multiverse of Madness show.
Nick Aldis – who has been serving as a WWE backstage producer and on-screen SmackDown general manager since 2023 – will make his in-ring return at SummerSlam, against GUNTHER.
Matt Cardona recently said that he was previously “pissed” following two WWE stars’ comments about him prior to his return, click here to read more.
