Roman Reigns has a challenge ahead at Money in the Bank, but his decision for next week’s WWE Raw suggests he may be protecting something.
The “only megastar” on WWE Raw may have made an impression this week, but he won’t be after Money in the Bank, sending out his soldiers against The 946.
Last night’s episode of WWE Raw saw Reigns rally the forces in the ongoing feud with The 946, having had a verbal altercation with LA Knight to open up the show.
With the opposition on two fronts, the interaction with The Usos suggests that Roman Reigns may be protecting something:
“Most manufactured corporate puppet”
Describing Reigns as an “industry plant” and taking a shot at The OTC’s teeth, LA Knight was on fire as he addressed the World Heavyweight Champion.
For a moment, it looked the words may have hit home with Reigns and this can only lead to a monumental encounter at Money in the Bank.
Whether Reigns can do it alone, something that Knight has picked apart previously, will play out on October 10, with The 946 no doubt also waiting for their moment to strike.
“We tagging with The OTC”
Adam Pearce declared that it would be The 946 vs. The Bloodline on next week’s episode of WWE Raw, with The Usos enthused that they’d be tagging with Reigns.
Reigns would pour water on that idea, though, revealing that they would be teaming with Solo Sikoa, now returned from the recent abduction at the hands of Royce Keys, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima.
“The Grand Prize”
The OTC weren’t silent on WWE Raw, either, with a highly-stylized video package revealing that there are “two left” before they go after the “grand prize”.
That “grand prize” can only be The OTC himself, although it’s likely that he will not be easy to get to.
Roman Reigns defines The Bloodline
Despite all the chaos that has gone on in his absence, Reigns would take a moment to define The Bloodline on WWE Raw when he spoke to The Usos.
According to The OTC, Jacob Fatu is “a soldier” and not the man who should be giving orders. Reminding The Usos that he made them “captains for a reason”, Reigns would say he would handle things, leaving and returning later to set up the match on next week’s episode of WWE Raw.
Belittling Fatu and his purpose is something that surely has to play out when the star returns, while Reigns and his lack of faith in The Usos is also a thread that needs unpicking.
It’s obvious that the “grand prize” is Roman Reigns, but everything he did this week suggests that the division of his attention between LA Knight, The 946 and The Bloodline is playing on his mind.
There is also an argument to be made that Reigns isn’t protecting The Bloodline from the threat of The 946, but ensuring that he has troops rallied around him in the hope they don’t reach that particular prize.
