Life is good for Davis Lamb at the moment.

The 29-year-old just locked up his 2027 PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 20 of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour points list. Lamb, in fact, claimed the 20th and final spot on that list thanks to a clutch closing round at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship earlier this mont, where he carded three birdies on his last five holes to finish solo 8th.

Now, the Notre Dame alum is looking forward to teeing it up in his first-ever PGA Tour tournament in a few months, and on this week’s episode of Subpar, Lamb revealed which other players would be present in his dream grouping. One name was expected, while the other took hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz by surprise.

“First and foremost, Scottie [Scheffler],” Lamb began. “Never gotten to play with him or even be close to him. I’ve just got to see what that looks like. It’s all I’ve heard about. Everybody who I’ve ever talked to in the golf world that’s seen him says it’s different. Like, no one’s on the same wavelength.

“And then I got a bit of a wild card here for you,” he continued. “The second would be Chesson Hadley. And the the reason for that is Chesson, when he was on the Korn Ferry tour, this would have been 2011, stayed at my family’s house. We did host housing for the Korn Ferry, I believe it was the Tour Championship semi-final at TPC Potomac.

“So when I was 13 years old, Chesson was like a god to me. Like, this guy was everything that I ever wanted to be. We got to play a couple of times this year, in the same events. So that’d be kind of just a cool full-circle moment to be playing in the same PGA Tour event.”

“What an answer,” Knost responded. “Not a name I expected. I think we could have printed out every PGA Tour player that has membership right now. We would have never gotten there.”
