Triple H Comments On Nick Aldis WWE In-Ring Debut Plans
WWE
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has addressed announcing Nick Aldis vs GUNTHER for SummerSlam on August 1-2.
Nick Aldis will wrestle his first match for WWE after almost three years away from the ring at SummerSlam, with GUNTHER being confirmed to be his opponent.
This match was announced during the SummerSlam Kickoff event which took place on Sunday (July 19), following a brawl between the two names.
The segment kicked off with GUNTHER confronting Triple H, asking him what he’s going to do about Nick Aldis interfering in his match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Aldis then came out, and after a brief scuffle, Triple H made the match official.
The Chief Content Officer stated:
“Enough, we’ve seen enough! You guys want to fight? You’ve asked for it, now you’ve got it.
“This is WWE, we get in the ring to settle our differences. At SummerSlam it will be the Ring General, GUNTHER, versus Nick Aldis.
“You guys will settle this once and for all at SummerSlam!”

Triple H has now taken to Twitter to share the official graphic for this upcoming match.
He captioned his post:
We’re going to settle this in the ring…

This match will mark the first time Nick Aldis has ever wrestled in WWE. The SmackDown General Manager last stepped into the ring for a match at the October 7, 2023 ACW show, days before his WWE TV debut on the October 13, 2023 SmackDown episode.
Aldis has served as a backstage producer in WWE since August 2023, and has been the on-screen SmackDown General Manager since that October.
It will be interesting to see how WWE chooses to present the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, as more details emerge about his upcoming in-ring return.
