Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Winter Juniors qualifier Riley Fitzpatrick has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Cincinnati beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Cincinnati! I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has been a part of my journey and helped me get to this point. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for your endless support, guidance, and encouragement throughout the years. A huge thank you to Coach Joey, Scott and the entire UC Swim Staff for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity. I’m so excited to begin this next chapter and officially call Cincinnati home! Go Bearcats!!
A senior at Gloucester Catholic High School in Gloucester City, New Jersey, Fitzpatrick does her year-round swimming with South Jersey Aquatic Club, where she specializes in breaststroke and IM. She is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw her drop nearly five seconds in the 200 breast and and over a second and a half in the 100 breast and 200 IM.
Fitzpatrick clocked her current lifetime bests in the breaststroke events at the TAC Titans’ Blizzard Blitz in December, swimming 1:02.79 and 2:15.81, times that qualify her for the Winter Junior Championships in a few months. She went on to post 2:06.58 in the 200 IM at the Middle Atlantic Senior Championships in March.
Top SCY Times:
- 100 Breaststroke: 1:02.79
- 200 Breaststroke: 2:15.81
- 200 IM: 2:06.58
A Division I Mid-Major program, Cincinnati competes in the Big 12 Conference, and its women’s team finished fourth out of 10 teams at the 2026 conference meet. Fitzpatrick’s current career bests in the breaststroke events would have qualified for the ‘C’ finals, positioning him to contribute right away, with two full seasons of training still ahead before he lines up at his first conference meet.
Fitzpatrick joins Peyton Brooks, Hannah Parkin, and Emily Sudol in committing to the Bearcats’ class of 2031 so far.
