2026 PAN PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Summer McIntosh will not swim the 200 butterfly this week at the 2026 Pan Pac Championships after initially appearing on the psych sheets in the event. McIntosh is the World Record holder in the event after swimming a 2:01.65 at Canadian Trials last month.
McIntosh was originally entered in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. With her scratch in the 200 butterfly, she now avoids a double with the 200 free on day 1 of the meet. McIntosh did not enter the 800 free, an event she won bronze in at the 2025 World Championships, avoiding conflict with the 200 IM on the final day of the meet.
The focus on the 200 free is a change from last summer where she won the 2025 World Championship title in the 200 butterfly but did not swim the individual 200 freestyle in Singapore.

The 2026 Pan Pac Championships are a condensed meet schedule compared to most international competitions. The meet will run from Wednesday through Saturday on a four-day lineup. In comparison, the European Championships taking place in Paris, France right now is a seven-day lineup.
The 19 year old McIntosh did not compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, choosing to focus on 2026 Pan Pacs instead. Pan Pacs this week will be McIntosh’s debut at the Pan Pac Championships as the last edition of the meet was in 2018, when McIntosh was just 11 years old.
