WWE Accidentally Spoils New Signing With Trademark Filing? WWE

The latest WWE trademark filing may have revealed the identity of a new signing coming into the company – specifically a returning signing.

UPDATE: Baron Corbin returned to WWE on tonight’s SmackDown – click here for the latest.

For a number of weeks now, there have been reports suggesting Baron Corbin could be on his way back to WWE after his departure in November 2024 ended a run with the company that began in 2012.

Just a few days ago, MLW announced that Corbin, performing under the name Bishop Dyer since his WWE exit, had been stripped of his half of the MLW World Tag Team Championship, which led to Donovan Dijak replacing Dyer with Josh Bishop as his new partner.

This seemed to be another major sign that Corbin is indeed on his way back to WWE, and now there’s another.

Today, WWE filed to trademark The Nomad with the following description:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

After his WWE departure, Corbin rebranded himself as ‘The Nomad’ Bishop Dyer and established The Nomad as his nickname, so it appears this trademark is a sign of his comeback.

If it ends up being related to something entirely different, we’ll keep you posted, but it seems to be a safe assumption right now.
