A WWE faction could be about to gain a new member, with a self-declared relationship to a main roster star and tensions already apparent.

The October 20 episode of WWE NXT saw a vignette for the “reflection of perfection” Chantel Monroe, hyping her in-ring debut.

Monroe left an impression on one faction in particular, although one member of Vanity Project was less enthused than the others:

Chantel Monroe?

Monroe had her WWE debut in an NXT dark match back in February 2025 and has gone on to feature on Evolve.

Competing on WWE LFG, Monroe has also appeared in a losing effort to Maxxine Dupri on WWE Main Event in September of this year and featured in the NXT Women’s Championship Number One Contendership Battle Royal on October 6.

Isn’t there another Monroe in WWE?

Blake Monroe signed with WWE in 2025, debuting on NXT in June of that year, having previously been Mariah May in AEW.

Now a member of the main roster, Monroe beat Giulia in her debut match on SmackDown back in October.

As for Chantel, she addressed the Blake Monroe situation with a tongue-in-cheek post on X, stating:

“And yes! I am related to Blake Monroe on my brothers, cousins, sister, baby daddy, uncle, brother, niece, grandmother, auntie’s side of the family.

“Thank yuh🤏🏾✨”

Blake Monroe would respond to the family connection in a repost, sharing:

“See you at Thanksgiving”

Vanity Project

It probably comes as no surprise that Monroe would follow her now main roster name sake when it comes to attracting the attention of Vanity Project.

A backstage encounter saw Monroe ask if Vanity Project had seen her vignette, with Jackson Drake and Brad Baylor seemingly impressed in her very presence. Ricky Smokes would play it somewhat smooth, saying he “loved it”, although it was Myka Lockwood who would redirect attention to more pressing matters.

Drake would retweet the interaction with a message clearly aimed at Monroe, writing:

“The Doctor will see her whenever she want💯”

Lockwood, by contrast, would be less impressed by Monroe, tweeting:

“Bruh go away.”

With Brad Baylor making it clear that Monroe “definitely has the invite, for sure”, it looks like the new NXT star has a role in Vanity Project.

A new diva debuts

The ‘diva’ style character is something that WWE creative has leaned into for quite some time, with the idea of a bombshell competitor evolving over the years.

In the modern landscape of WWE, whether it be the main roster or NXT, many stars have evolved beyond the seemingly “looks-based” character they portray, demonstrating their in-ring abilities. WWE has also moved far away from the period when women’s wrestlers would get mere minutes on television, something that The Miz touched upon while discussing the unrecognized success of Maryse.

When it comes to Chantel Monroe, she has a strong start with her character and will no doubt be provided with all the tools to succeed. The idea of her as a member of Vanity Project with an abrasive Lockwood, while the boys remain unaware of what’s going on, has potential when it comes to the douchey behavior of Drake, Baylor and Smokes.
