WWE filed a new trademark application for a term that may be linked to the main roster call-up of an NXT star.
The August 4 episode of WWE NXT saw Lola Vice lose to Women’s Champion Kendal Grey in an Underground match.
Post-match, Vice would speak to the fans, thanking them for their support, in footage that was shared on Twitter, indicating that a main roster call-up may be imminent.
August 4 would also be the date when WWE would file a new trademark application that may be connected to the star.
Under serial number 50031923, WWE filed a trademark application for the term “VICE CITY” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The filing covers the Goods and Services category of:
IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service;
providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information;
fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members;
providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
The term has been associated with Vice previously, although it remains to be seen how WWE would use it on Raw or SmackDown.
Not To State The Obvious
November 19, 2026, marks the long-awaited release of GTA VI, the latest entry in the Rockstar Games franchise.
Sponsorship deals are yet to be revealed for the upcoming video game, which sees an “extended look” on Netflix (and later YouTube) on August 27.
For fans of the video game franchise, GTA VI marks a return to Vice City, the focal point of its own game back in 2002, returning in 2006 for Vice City Stories.
With WWE in partnership with Netflix and the frequency with which video games find their way into this particular corner of sports entertainment, perhaps an opportunity exists for a collaboration that will see a star such as Lola Vice when it comes to publicizing the game to an eager fanbase in a crossover between entertainment formats.
In the meantime, there are no doubt many stories for Lola Vice to tell on the main roster, feuds to explore, friends and enemies to make, and much more.
