As of this week, WWE Main Event officially has a new home, with the show moving from it’s previous home on YouTube to stream exclusively on Rumble.

The first show on Rumble has drawn in over 500,000 viewers, which is way up from it’s previous numbers it was pulling in on YouTube.

Though there has only been one show, there have already been some major changes made to the show.

New logo

WWE Main Event debuted back in 2012, and the show has had the same base logo for it’s entire existence.

This week, the show featured a new aesthetic, which included the first change made to the show’s logo in it’s history, going from the prior Red and Blue version to the new White version.

While the base logo remains the same, the new logo reflects the new era of Main Event.

One hour length & more matches

When streaming on YouTube, WWE Main Event would primarily only feature two or three matches taped prior to Raw or SmackDown that week, with the show going off air when those matches had concluded.

Now, it seems as though the show has a one hour length, as this weeks show featured four matches, more than previous episodes of the show, as well as featuring extended recaps of this week’s Raw and SmackDown shows to fill out the time.

Recorded promos from top stars

More matches aren’t the only way that WWE has filled out the extra time on Main Event, with the show now also featuring taped ‘exclusive’ promos from various stars following the events of that week’s Raw and SmackDown.

This week’s show featured taped promos from both Gunther and WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, giving names more of a chance to further their storylines.

More importance to the main shows

The most major change to this week’s episode of Main Event however was that the show felt consequential for the first time in a long time.

During the main event of Main Event, Lyra Valkyria faced off against Sol Ruca, with the match ending with Sol picking up the win after Bayley appeared to distract Lyra, using Main Event as a platform to further the rivalry between the two currently ongoing on Raw.

The importance of WWE Main Event is seemingly set to continue, as WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green will be in action on next week’s show, taking on Lainey Reid.

However, WWE Main Event featured major stars in it’s early weeks when it debuted, with WWE Champion CM Punk facing World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in the first-ever main event of the show, so WWE has pretended to care about Main Event before, and it remains to be seen if these changes will remain consistent over the coming months.
