In late August we saw the introduction of The 946 faction to WWE, when Royce Keys, along with NXT’s Lucien Price and Bronco Nima stormed the ring on Raw and wiped out The Usos, Solo Sikoa and LA Knight.
Since then we have seen 946 add another NST star to their ranks in Jaida Parker, as well as SmackDown’s Carmelo Hayes, as the group wages war on The Bloodline.
With WarGames on the horizon, 946’s recruitment drive may not be finished just yet. However, they may not be the only faction to look at the NXT roster for new members.
Here are two main roster factions that could add NXT stars to their ranks:
Cruz Montana – The 946
As mentioned, The 946 are the most likely faction to add another new member in the coming weeks, as they still need one more new addition if they are to field a five man team for WarGames on November 28.
While that fifth man doesn’t necessarily need to be a new 946 member, it would probably make more sense for Royce Keys to find another permanent addition to his group than aligning with someone random on the roster.
NXT has plenty of viable options for this spot, but Cruz Montana may very well be the best fit for 946. Like Royce Keys, Montana has spoken about the struggles of his upbringing on the streets of New York City and the personal struggles he has had to face along the way.
While he is only just getting started in NXT, Montana has that 946 grit and toughness that would make him a perfect fit.
Tony D’Angelo – The Vision
With Tony D’Angelo falling short in his attempt to win back his NXT Championship from Grayson Waller, now seems like the time for WWE to finally call him up to the main roster.
As proven by the likes of OTM and Jaida Parker, being immediately placed in a faction is a pretty ideal scenario for an NXT call-up, as it lessens the pressure on having to immediately get over with the main roster audience.
D’Angelo is someone who all WWE fans should be familiar with by now after five years in NXT, but often popularity in the Performance Center doesn’t translate to main roster crowds.
Tony D has proven he can play a heel in the past, and with this more serious iteration of his character, he may be better suited to that role rather than being called up to main roster as a babyface.
The Vision are a group that could benefit from an injection of something new, and with Logan Paul still out of action, and Paul Heyman seemingly no longer aligned to the group, perhaps the former “Don of NXT” can fill a gap.
